Can't argue with the decision as he clearly intended to take out the player. That's Sunday League rugby-psycho-trying-to-play-footie-with-a-hangover-tactics in my book.
Saw it on motd. The pundits didn’t have a problem with Ralls taking him out, just the way in which he did it. We’re still being a bit naive here
Yes, I'd agree with that as @Charlie said and ankle tap instead of a full on lunge would have done the business and probably only got a yellow.
Thought that at the time, why not just trip him up and put your hands in the air like you stumbled. Then-do-some-prayer-signs-at-the-ref-whilst-the-mouth-breather-brandishes-an-imaginary-red-card-over-you-and-Danny-Rose-an-MC Hammer-style-dance-back-and-forth-trying-to get-you-sent-off-with Dier-doing-open-palm-signs. That's exactly what I thought.
They have discretion to add a match or two on to the ban if they think its a frivolous appeal so not worth a try in my view.
Straight red no question. Ankle taps run the risk of injury too and cynical tackles where players maybe injured warrant a red. Should have just grabbed the shirt and pulled back, easy yellow and no physical harm done.
