Surely its better to spend this time getting everything in position to deal with a second wave if it comes instead of doing absolutely nothing. in another thread on this board there is mass hilarity over england not achieving 100k tests a day wheras wales are capable of doing 2k maximum. as i said we are subbing out testing now so what happens if those countries get big spikes and cant do our tests for us. the covid track and trace i have just finished in newport is now going to be used by public health england. I have been involved in NHS work all the way through the pandemic and its the people at the top who are dismayed as to where we are preparation wise. there is tax payers money being spent propping up rugby regions coffers by installing field hospitals that in reality will only be dumping grounds for people who are close to death because they are not equipped with the likes of ventilators and medical gases needed to save lives. all this money should have been spent on testing centres and being prepared for the worst instead of flying by the seat of your pants hoping for the best. Of course there are lots of people out there who believe its all fake but having seen the wards overflowing and in one case in a hospital porter waiting outside the theatre doors whilst we convert it to a covid ward i can assure you it was all very real especially when my daughter working in the gwent contracted it.
