I fecking hate double barrel names.
Does Ecuele Manga count?
Historically, a double barrelled name celebrated a marriage between two families.
In football, most of those we see are first generation and put together for a variety of reasons.
Not a City connection, but Sylvan Ebanks-Blake (born 1986, Cambridge) and Ethan Ebanks-Landell (born 1992, West Brom) who coincidentally played for Wolves at the same time, do not appear to be related. I've always found that interesting, given that Ebanks is an unusual surname.
A bit of digging around has turned up Wayne Ebanks (born Birmingham 1964), who played for Cambridge late 80's after playing for West Brom, Stoke & Port Vale, but left football early to join the police. Again, no obvious references to the other boys and maybe I am making 2 + 2 = 5.
Anybody know more?
Have you noticed how most of the double barrelled names are black players?
Back in the day twas only posh cunts that had them.
Not that you cant have posh black people of course before I get accused of being a racialist. Look at that black bloke off the antiques programmes for one. Then theres Adz with his uni degree and expensive daps of course.
