The manics before the Italy game were amazing and set the tone for the rest of the night one of the best games I've attended
Might of missed this
Used to love my britpop / indie music and go to Metros a bit but also liked my dancing wether that be House or R&B.
That was until one night me and a mate went to the Astoria for an R&B night. I knew it was going to be trouble when you could count the white blokes in there on one hand and that was including me and my mate.
Didn’t help we’d dropped a gram of base and the paranoias has started to kick in. Had a bad feeling.
Unfortunately those bad feelings turned to reality when some a bird started grinding on my mate, and was only doing it to make her boyfriend jealous. My mate was thick as shit and thought he was in. I tried to warn him let’s get the fuck out as there was about 20 brothers looking they were about to lynch us. One of them came up to us and told us we’re going to get cut up.
Made for the exit and my mate got cracked. Luckily bouncers were there in a flash and kicked us out and held them back. They eventually got out but we’d had a head start. I don’t know of it was the base or the adrenaline but ive never run so fast in all my life.
Scary looking back but good fun also.
I have a real bizarre and diversechoice of music where I love metal I'm also s massive fan of 60s and 70s music then to an obscure scale of house and trance also love indie
Like most genres but never like metal or grunge. Except Nirvana.
Did you like it at the time? Or after he died?
After. Don’t think I’d heard the album before he died. I was into hip hop and baggy and fully into casual culture. Hated on Goths. Dead or not that album is unbelievable.
Wasn't until around 1998 it went off in my head for me then I was sold, in utero is their best album imo and he was starting to write some good stuff lyrically if you like that sort of stuff, if you haven't seen it watch montage of heck
The nu metal genre set me on my course for everything metal
Sorry no video. Not just one of my favourite 90s tracks, one of my favourite ever -
I Could never get in to the charlatans or supergrass thought they was utter shit
