A few things to remember when posting on the OOCC

99% of the time everything is fine here but occasionally things can get a bit out of hand, so here are some guidelines for us all to be on the same page.

    ---------------------------

    General Chat

As a simple rule, make the forum a better place to be rather than a worse place to be and you'll get by fine.

From the very beginning I've always had in mind that this place should have the standards of a typical lads pub.

There's going to be fruity language, there's going to be saucy pictures and off-colour jokes, there's going to be piss-taking and there's going to be arguments but even pubs have a natural line that you pretty much know instinctively if you or others are crossing.

Treat posters with respect if you want to be respected and also have a bit of extra respect for the moderators and those that put the work in around here.

    Politics Threads

Talking politics is fine, even arguing about politics is OK, just try to keep it civil. Plus, we've all got our own political viewpoints but try to recognise when people are letting you know it's getting a bit much.

Moderators will try to keep politics discussion in one thread unless the topic clearly merits its own thread.

    Offensive Posts

I have occasionally had messages sent to me saying that there have been posts and/or images that they've found offensive.

Well, it is a pub atmosphere, the regulars here know the score and it's mostly water off a duck's back for us and I wouldn't want to change it.

But if you're about to post something you know is going to ruffle some feathers, just give a quick thought to brand new visitors looking in here for the first time and remember that they are judging this place by what they're seeing you post.

    Warning Points

We have a Warning Points system on here so from now on we're going to use it.

As a first resort a moderator will talk to you via Private Message to warn you if there has been some misconduct.

After this, generally speaking, 1 point will be given per transgression and 3 points is a 1 Week ban, but harsher sanctions can be handed out depending on the mods judgement of the offence.

Points given will remove themselves after 1 month.

The moderators will decide whether points should be given.

    Reporting Posts

If you see a post that you feel is a bit too much then please do use the 'Report' button.

I've heard of people actually stopping posting here because of something they didn't like but we don't know what's offending people if you don't tell us.

Reporting is a secret system, we won't reveal to anyone who you reported or why, the moderators will discuss the merits of the report behind the scenes and you will be notified of our decision.
