Welcome to the Guess the Attendance competition, which will run for the remainder of season. The Colonel has very kindly offered a t-shirt and mug as prizes to the overall winner at the end of the season and a month of Gold Membership for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. There will also be a week of Gold Membership for the closest guess each week. I will put up a thread for each of the matches as we go along and these will hopefully be all of the Bluebirds’ home and away fixtures, PL or Cup competitions. We will see how things go. -------- Rules 1. In the dedicated thread for each game, state which match you are predicting along with your guess at the official match attendance, e.g. City v Newcastle - 29,999. 2. One guess, per person, per game. If you wish to change your entry that will be fine, but put it on a new post and PM me just in case I have already recorded your entry on my spreadsheet. Do not edit a previous post. 3. All entries must be submitted no later than one hour before kick off. 4. Towards the end of the season, to avoid 'tactical' submissions, entrants may PM their entry to me, but I will put out a reminder about that nearer the time. 5. My declared official attendance is final, taken from www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk or the BBC. 6. I am also allowed to play (coordinating this gives me no advantage whatsoever), and no-one is allowed to complain about my scoring, although obvious errors may be pointed out politely. Scoring Consistency over the course of the season is key, but accurate guesses are rewarded. All guesses within 100 of the official attendance earn five points All guesses within 101 - 500 earn four points All guesses within 501 – 1,000 earn three points All guesses within 1,001 – 2,500 earn two points All guesses within 2,501 – 5,000 earn one point The closest guess (whether over or under) earns five bonus points. Where there is more than one “closest”(regardless whether over or under the actual figure), the five points will divided between the identical guesses. An absolutely spot on guess earns five bonus points. Example Someone with a guess which was 49 out will score 5 points, or 10 points if they are the closest from all entries. A guess in the same week which was 101 out will score 4 points etc. Although unlikely, an exact guess by just one person will earn 5 + 5 + 5 = 15 points. Good luck all. I have started us off in the thread below.
