Today they vote whether to leave EU without a deal.
I think we can all safely say nearly all approx 650 mps will be voting no for this?

We need to have a law passed which demands ego and self promotion have to be left with the door staff when you’re an an MP. Then they can vote. Or fuck off home,

I'd wager your working class pals Boris, Jacob & Mark will be voting for no deal.

They make me sick the lot of them that European MP called it correct last night when he said it doesn’t matter what is put in front of the house regards leaving because nearly 500 members voted to stay so they are acting in self interest and not in the interest of the majority vote of the referendum that voted leave. MPs only thinking of themselves who would have thought that day would come the expenses cheating pricks

    Well said.

    Game playing on all sides.

If anyone ever doubted the true intentions of these people, it's been laid bare by recent events.

They don't serve the people, they serve their own interests.

I do think that a bit harsh there Steve, I am all for a 2nd referendum based on what we now know we are letting ourselves in for.

52% of the nation voted leave, based on nothing.

Put it to the country again I say.

As for "expenses cheating", I don't think they claim enough, whenever I check my MPs expenses, it all seems very reasonable, a secretary, office supplies, travel back and fo London etc.
It would be no more than what you or I claim in any event.

I'm not sure how it comes down to 'self interest'. It may be ego or political conviction, or grandstanding, or trying to avoid an economic and social catastrophe, or trying to shake off the shackles of a square banana beaurocracy, or manoevering for position or power in either of the main parties (or finding a new stick to beat Corbyn) or any number of other things. But other than a tilt at office I can't see where the self interest lies.

The people who have really demonstrated their understanding of self interest are those like Jacob Rees-Mogg and James Dyson who led the Brexit charge and then took their wealth and businesses out of the UK to protect them from the shitstotm they caused. Most people won't be able to run away like that!

    Point of order @Nugent

53% of those that voted, voted leave. 17.4m votes out of a population of over 60million. That's about 25% of "the nation".

Of course, not all of "the nation" are eligible to vote.

Of those who are, around 47million, 36% voted to leave.

Therefore 64% either voted remain, couldn't be arsed. weren't eligible to vote.

    Point of order taken.

Let it be known to the house when I said 52%of the nation , I meant 52% of people that voted.

People mustn't shout from a sedentary position, forum users must calm themselves.

Given that they deserted her in her hour of need the question is:

Has a billion pounds ever been spent worse than on the DUP?

    Absobloodylutely

May bought the votes of a bunch of bigots using OUR money to keep her in power and give her a majority and for what?

This whole thing is falling apart, pretty much solely down to Northern Ireland

56% of the NI voters voted to remain

The DUP want to remain part of the UK, HATE the idea of being part of Ireland, want to leave the EU, voted against the deal which, if we leave without a deal, will lead to a hard border between Ireland and NI, which they don't want either!

Let's not forget, this is a party with ten seats, whose views on Brexit do not represent the views of the majority of people in Northern Ireland, holding the rest of us to ransom when the only reason they have any real say is because of the grubby actions of a desperate woman and a failed government.

Question. Can we have our money back please?

The 10 votes of the DUP will do nothing without the rest of the Tories to push it through.
