This actually happened to me today. Just wondering how other posters would've dealt with it... Having just stopped at an unnamed services in Southern England after a very long few days on the road and out with customers, I popped in for a piss stop and a coffee. Returning to my car, a car abruptly drove at a diagonal angle past my boot, wound the window down, and a flustered, middle aged lady said 'Excuse me' then motioned as if to say I'll pull in by here, then stopped. Intrigued, I walked to her now open window and the conversation went like this: *Woman visibly distressed, almost crying, well spoken, in an 18 plate BMW with at least two kids under 7 in the car Woman: Really sorry, but do you live around here? Me: No sorry Woman: *fighting back tears* so sorry to ask, but... *struggles to get words out* Me: What's happened? What's the matter? Woman: Sorry, but I'm nearly out of petrol, my mum was just rushed into hospital, and my son took my purse to get us food but and lost it in the hospital, I've rung them but nobody has handed it in Me: OK... Woman: I'm about to run out of petrol, and I've got the kids and everything and I don't know what to do What would you have done here? I will add what I actually did later. Just intrigued.
