    Goalkeepers

    Etheridge
    Smithies
    B Murphy

    Full backs

    Bennett
    Cunningham
    Peltier
    Richards

    Centre Halves

    Morrison
    Manga
    Bamba
    Connolly

    Midfield

    Ralls
    Bacuna
    Hoilett
    J Murphy
    Mendez Laing
    Paterson
    Harris
    Damour
    O’Keefe

    Forwards

    Zohore
    Ward
    Decordova-Reid
    Healey

Obviously we have some players that can play various positions such as Paterson, Reid, Bacuna etc

That looks a pretty good squad for the Championship, with the obvious big weakness being central midfield.

Who would you sell/loan. Where would you strengthen and who would you want us to bring in?

For me we need some ability on the ball in midfield. Damour and O keefe can go. Richards and Connolly as well. As for bringing players in depends on the budget.

I’d agree with Damour and O’Keefe and I’m sure Connolly will be off too. Richards would be a good player to have if wasn’t injured all the time.
Defensively I would like to see us try to bring in James Lawrence from Anderlecht. In Midfield a cheeky loan bid for Matt Smith to replace Gunnar and Tom Cairney to do Victors job.

    We need a midfield dog
We need a midfield string puller/ pass picker

Get rid of Ward and Healey and get a new target man and poacher. Zohore gets a last chance season.

I'd go for Bannan over Cairney. Not that we'd get either. There could be some business to be done with Sheff.Wed though. They must be nearing the knuckle FFP wise. Adam reach is another good player there. All left foot but very good. Richards would be fine if fit plus I doubt anybody will come in for him. The best thing probably is to work hard on him pre season and get him super fit. The others though are dead weight. O keefe's on half decent wages as well so he may not be in a hurry to go.

Getting Richards ft would be a huge bonus. All players out on loan can go, along with Healey and Kadeem. Matt Connolly can stay or go as he wants. He is a superb professional who deserves to be playing football.

A couple of midfielders who are up to the demands of the Championship plus a proven striker at that level and that's us done. :onfire:

Let's just snap up the best players at the Wurzels for a song again.

That's what a feeder club is for, right?

Selfishly, I would like Cardiff to pick up an American player on loan.

Carter-Vickers, Antonee Robinson come to mind. Just rotation players, mind you, but would be fun for me.

Omar Bogle would be good if the coaches took the time with him. He's much bettet thsn Healy as the last reserve striker. Much better.

O'Keefe can go, Ralls, Bacuna, A.N. Other and Damour as the 2 sitting midfielders, Reid and Paterson as the options for behind the striker. Ken, Ward (if he can actually stay fit) Omar and a new striker. Connolly can also go, sign another centre back (or two for Bamba's injury, or if Bruno goes which he might). If Richards can stay fit keep him, if not maybe a new right back. Kadeem can leave, and a new winger can come in. That's 4-5 which seems enough.

If we were promoted (a big if and far in the future) I don't think Cunningham or Bennett is up to the task, nor Peltier at what will then be 33 and slower than ever. Depending on the other signings and who goes, we would need some more.

Holy shit, I did not realise Peltier was 32 years old. That has surprised me. Looks 10 years younger than that and then some.

    Matt Smith :hehe:

Can’t see Pep loaning us any of his young starlets.

Don’t think his philosophy fits with Warnocks somehow.

Well I am hoping (very much against hope) that next season will see a transition from the sort of football that clearly doesn’t work in the Premier League to more of a possession based game.
    We can but hope.
