The sequel to the best book to come out of the Vietnam War follows the authors monumental fuck ups as he lurches from one disaster to the next, an excellent read.
The battle of COP Keating, told by Romesha, who spearheaded both the defense of the outpost and the counterattack that drove the Taliban back beyond the wire and received the Medal of Honor for his actions.
A riveting read,fast paced and exciting but I found the graphic descriptions of his friends deaths a little over the top.

From battling the Bismarck to being sunk on the Prince of Wales, from the fall of Singapore to the landings in North Africa and back to the Far East and assorted adventures in between.
The best book I've read for a while 9.5/10
I broke with my usual tradition of never reading fiction by taking this on holiday with me.
It was brilliant for the first half whilst it remained fairly sensible, but then it typically veered towards the supernatural and I kind of lost interest.
