That ship has already sailed. No need. Control of all the EU's MEP's will be in place by next May's EU elections.

All future MEP candidates putting themselves forward for the EU elections, must pass conditions which have been laid down by the Israeli government. If they refuse then they will be smeared as being 'anti-semitic'.

Lardy what I think, or for that matter, what you think is completely irrelevant.
These are the facts that we are now left to deal with. It hasn't just become a mess. It was always a mess waiting to happen.

Surely 3 options and single transferable vote.

Everyone allowed to give 1st and 2nd preferences. Option with lowest support eliminated and ballots distributed to 2nd preference.

My guess is the May deal will have least support - and ballots distributed according to 2nd preference between Remain and No Deal.

Transferable votes fly in the face of the traditional UK voting system, so it won't be introduced with such a potentially important decision.

STV is used in Assembly, European and local elections in Northern Ireland, and local elections in Scotland.

It just seems to me to be a simpler way of doing the 2 part ballot TH63 proposed. It isn't difficult.

Most people will have used STV for other votes they've cast in their lives - political parties, trade unions, clubs and societies... etc. Over half a million recently voted for Corbyn as Labour leader using an STV ballot.

Whatever system is used, if there is to be another referendum because the first led to a constitutional crash and exposed information and options never discussed (honestly) in 2016, I agree the No Deal, May Deal and Remain options have to be included.

How on earth could we have another referendum? We leave in March 2019, a referendum wouldn't take place until after that date. How could the electorate be expected to take another referendum seriously when it would occur after we have legally left the EU?

Article 50 would have to be revoked.

Why do you think the electorate wouldn't take another referendum seriously? Didn't they take the last one seriously?

I wasn't actually arguing for a second referendum (not sure if that is the right course if parliamentary deadlock), but if there is one I was agreeing with other posters on what the options should be.

Bit too complicated for the electorate imho

Probably best to dial the short number from a mobile and the long number from a landline, then press 1 for brexit, 2 for remain, 3 for deal....

    Alternatively download the app....

The last one was announced 13 months before it took place in June 2016. It was reconfirmed in February 2016. I fully understand that you were not arguing in favour of a new referendum, but just discussing it as a possible option. However no one can seriously argue that they didn't understand, or there was insufficient information available to them at the time of the last referendum, as they had had 13 months notice of one, which was more than enough time for people to acquaint themselves with all of the arguments for Remain or Leave.

I agree that Article 50 could be revoked. But what would that mean in reality? The country would have been plunged into crisis for nothing. The electorate would have lost all confidence in our democratic processes and people would be politically disconnected for years to come. Is that a price that is worth paying?

I've never used STV for a vote and I don't know anyone who has...

Someone with some balls needs to stand up and say “sorry guys, I know you voted leave, but this has turned into a massive clusterfuck, so here’s what we’re going to do. In the national interest I’m going to revoke article fifty, and we’ll have another referendum in 12 months time which will be in two parts - leave/remain, deal/no-deal.”
