Monty Pythons Flying Circus seems to be being overlooked
Fawlty Towers - Above all else, the writing is laser sharp and still so quotable. The jokes per minute ratio is unbelievable.
Spaced - Not only a great series but for everything that came after it.
Father Ted - Simply because its funny as fuck.
Spaced, another overlooked gem
Anyone mentioned The Good life? used to love that.
Steptoe & Son
Forgot Monty Python (how could I, I grew up watching those) and Phoenix Nights.
I can't believe I didn't nominate "The Thick of It" in this thread. An absolute dream of a British comedy, perfect, expertly crafted dialogue and storylines.
All 4 brilliant series are on Netflix at the moment and if you haven't seen it yet then you are in for an absolute treat.
It was pretty crap though. Only one reason worth watching it for was
Anyone mentioned Rising Damp or Reginald Perrin yet?
Lovely backside, and won Rear of the Year on a few occasions (and proud of it)
Strange how we never hear of such awards anymore.....
Another worthy winner. Shown here sharing the award with....carol vordeman
And here’s Carol winning it again outright or rightout. Not too sure
Never heard of it. Will have a look
I reckon you in particular will love it.
It's only on UK Netflix, but I can access that.
This has shaken something loose and I don't know whether anyone else has mentioned Yes Minister / Yes Prime Minister, but they were well written and superbly cast. In the same breath, I have to mention Drop the Dead Donkey.
Yep, agree with all of that. Drop the Dead Donkey, at its best was brilliant.
Always fancied Joy.
