I'd seriously take anything over £2 million.
Hes not unproven at this level, but a valid point on it being the last year of his contract.
You couldnt buy a striker in Merthyrs league for that!
He's not good enough for Merthyr's league.
His consistency is though and that's the frustrating part about him.
£8m would be the deal of the millennium
I can beat that.
Chuck in Madine as part of the deal and call it quits at £10m
Yes he can be frustrating but I dont think the way we play helps.
Hes proven he can score goals and assist at this level and when we played to his strengths the 2nd half of 2016/17 and first few months of 2017/18 we saw the best Ken. That period was the best football weve played under Warnock. As the 2017/18 season went on we went even more agricultural in our play, especially when we put Patterson in at number 10 and bought Madine and went even more direct.
I dont think his finishing is clinical and as you say its the final year then 8m is a good price. However, I would have like to have seen him sold to a club in a different league as it does have the potential to bite us on the arse if we are fighting West Brom for promotion
Chuck in Madine as part of the deal and call it £6m
Dare I say it, Madines goals against Tavistock is the reason weve cashed in on Ken and Madine will be back to being number 1 striker this season?
Well we can dream can't we?
Don't disagree with any of that to be honest and this is why most of my posts in this thread are all from differing viewpoints. It's frustrating as I think we all know there is a player in there somewhere and if WBA play to his strengths then they could have one hell of a player on their hands. Hopefully though they have fallen into the `Big player = target man' trap.
We won't get 8m for him anyway unless he scores 20 goals, WBA go up & Ken Choo wins the euromillions.
Its an odd one, im neither happy or disappointed about it. We know he can be a player but we also know how frustrating he can be in our current system.
For once the club seem to have got a good deal by getting 8m for a player in the final year of his contract. I retract my first post saying I thought 8m was rubbish as I didnt realise he was in the final year of his contract.
Hopefully we sign someone to replace him and dont go with what weve got. Although sometimes its a case of be careful what you wish for. Kenwynne Jones was called lazy but the alternative was Alex fucking Revell!!!
I also remember Jay Bothroyd getting called lazy and weve never really replaced him.
More time for Bobby Reid!
One thing for sure now is that we are going to be linked to every striker outside the top 4 now
Well I believe we have the option to make the Niasse loan permanent...
A few things to mention:
I fucked up my sleep pattern for the week watching the San Antonio game but Zohore was piss poor. I wasn't exactly monitoring him in particular but I kept hoping Bogle would come on and show something different.
Secondly, when the San Antonio center half "did a Beckenbauer" I was just waiting... And waiting... And waiting for Zohore to cynically pull him down or put one on him... Nope, he just gave up and let him run away from him. Looked really unprofessional.
Anyway, besides that, he has such limited technical ability. His passing at Burnley away for example broke down several of our attacks, his one on one finishing is also tame. He is about as aggressive as a pot of custard and also seems to now pick up little knocks that keep him out of action when he really needs to be pushing on and finding his form.
I'm convinced we'll sign better than him as a replacement
